Practicing closet creativity: everything I wore last week and why
Back with another style study! I’m on a mission to wear what I have in my closet and strengthen my style muscle. These style studies are like a closet audit—what am I wearing and why? What do I like and why? Finding personal style requires effort, experimentation, intention, and a willingness to notice.
This is me documenting the creative process of wearing my closet! I find that while getting dressed, I have to permit myself to experiment. This mentality applies to my entire day.
Monday: For The Office

Style Notes: I tried this look with a plain tee, but it didn’t work for me until I added something more interesting. Rolling up the sleeves is key.
Tuesday: For The Office
Tuckernuck Blue Striped Skirt | Gap Tee (on sale for $12!) | Hart Tennis Necklace | Hart Necklace with Vintage Charms | Same Tory Burch Sandals
Style Notes: You can’t go wrong with blue and white. The chunky sandals added some contrast to this look, which helped it feel less pioneer and more fashion-forward.
Wednesday: For The Office + Event
Tuckernuck Dress | Silver Heels (on sale for $60)
Style Notes: To have a dress in your closet that you can throw on and feel immediately put together! The dream. I love this one because you can sit at your desk all day, and it still looks fresh for an after-work event.
Thursday: For Happy Hour
Old J.Crew Shorts | Gap Tank | Sezane Sweater | Mom’s Beads
Style Notes: Loved this look! Focused on the color play. This Sezane sweater is a star in my closet. So worth the investment. I wear it over the shoulders, as a cardigan or a shirt with buttons in the back.
Friday: For The Office
Favorite Jean Shorts | Linen Shirt (similar) | Heart Necklace | Target Sandals
Style Notes: Started with the base of a white shirt and jeans and added accessories. Makes all the difference!
Friday: Dinner with Friends
T.J. Maxx Denim Vest (similar) | Abercrombie Skirt | Gold Heels | Little Longchamp
Style Notes: I love this vest trend paired with a skirt. For me, it creates proportion and a good contrast between the structure of the top and the flare of the skirt.
Saturday: For The Beach
Old Zara Coverup | Green Striped Suit (similar) | Amazon Hat ($7!)
Style Notes: Color for the beach! Yes please.
Sunday: Yard Work
Tee from Old Navy | Workout Socks | Favorite Shorts
Style Notes: Good for getting dirty. I wear these tees from Old Navy every single day on walks and when working out. These socks have become my favorite.
